The New Year 2005

I spent my Holiday reading Renne Fleming’s book about her life as a singer and mother.  Of course, I saw parallels with Mlada and Ms. Renne Fleming.  Ms. Renne Fleming gave birth to her first child when she was in England on a contract.  Well, my dearest Mlada will be in St. Gallen, Switzerland singing Bellini’s Norma six weeks before she gives birth to our first child.  The Swiss will have a rather plump Norma, but from all I have heard women enjoy singing when they are expecting.  The fetus is an extra help for breath support. Ms. Renee Fleming said that she did some of her best singing when she was pregnant.

Mlada sang Abgaile in Verdi’s Nabucco January 7th  in Warsaw.  It was her second performance of Nabucco at Teatr Wielki withMaestro Jacpek Kaspcek.  This time Mlada had the added pleasure of singing with Nicoli Putilin.  Mr. Putilin is best know for his many recordings of Russian operas with Valery Gergiev on the Philips record label.  This was Mr. Putilin’s first Nabucco. The performance was such a great success that Warsaw invited Mlada and Mr. Putilin back from another performance on March 23rd.  Warsaw Opera has also offered Mlada for this season Aida, Die Walküre with Maestro Placido Domingo and her first La Traviata in 2006.  Mlada passes along her thanks to all of her wonderful friends and colleagues in Warsaw and especially Maestro Kaspcek.

Saturday, January 15, Mlada sings Der Fliegender Hollander in Riga, Latvia.

Maestro Valery Gergiev has asked Mlada to sing The Invisible City of Kitesch performance at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in London, England on February 20, 2005.  It will be Mlada’s second performance at Covent Garden. Mlada will fly to London from Milan between performances at La Scala.

Mlada is also very excited to announce that she will once again sing Die Walküre with Maestro Placido Domingo in Warsaw October 22, 2005.  This is a special honor for Mlada.  She will reprise her role of Sieglinde to Maestro Domingo’s Sigmund.

Best Wishes from,
Mlada and Peter

For all Mlada’s fans in America, especially in Palos Verdes, we are trying to get more contracts for her in America.  Right now, Europe is very interested in Mlada and she has not received any opportunities in America.  Mlada continues to work at the Mariinsky Theatre with Maestro Valery Gergiev and she looks forward to future tours with the Mariinsky in Korea, London and in Orange County, California (2007). The opportunities Mlada is receiving in Europe are prestigious.  It appears America is a little slow on the take, but we have faith that the future looks bright for Mlada in America.
